This morning I woke up to find an email in my inbox from the folks at Pottermore and my heart started beating faster. Finally I would be able to get into the beta site, something I've been waiting for since the day I found out about J.K. Rowling's creation and when I learned of the competition that would let a few fans in months early. When I opened the message I got this instead:
Unfortunately it was only a letter confirming my early entrance; it didn't actually give me access. While searching for a reason why it was taking so long, I came across multiple blogs and news pages describing what exactly is going on in London. Young people are rioting because of what seems to have started out as a peaceful protest against police brutality. Now buildings are being burned down and shops looted. What they are doing is completely unacceptable and now I don't care as much about getting into a website, but instead I pray for all of the families in London and surrounding areas in hopes they will stay safe through this time.
Psalm 4:8
In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, LORD, make me dwell in safety.
Psalm 4:8
In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, LORD, make me dwell in safety.
